Infusion Services

At Tarrant Arthritis Center, infusion therapy is offered as a carefully supervised option for patients who need advanced treatment for inflammatory and autoimmune disease. Under the direction of Dr. Priyanka Jalandhara, our team coordinates biologic and related infusion therapies so care is clinical, convenient, and aligned with your overall rheumatology plan—not a disconnected procedure. Whether you are starting a new medication or continuing long-term therapy, we focus on clear communication, monitoring, and support from evaluation through each visit.

Who it's for:

Infusion services are typically considered for patients with conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, systemic lupus erythematosus, vasculitis, and other autoimmune or inflammatory disorders when oral therapy alone is not enough or when a specific infused medication is the best evidence-based choice. Eligibility depends on your diagnosis, prior treatments, lab results, and Dr. Jalandhara’s clinical assessment. If you have been referred for a biologic infusion—or you are exploring whether infusion therapy fits your goals—we will review your history and explain whether in-office infusion is appropriate for you.

What to expect:

Your path usually begins with a rheumatology evaluation, medication selection, and any required prior authorization or baseline labs. On infusion day, you check in, clinical staff confirm orders and vitals, and the medication is administered while you are monitored for comfort and safety. Visit length varies by drug and protocol; some infusions are relatively short, while others take longer. After the infusion, you receive aftercare guidance and follow-up instructions, and our team coordinates ongoing labs and clinic visits so therapy stays on track.

Safety

Safety is built into every step: ordered therapy is reviewed before administration, patients are monitored during the infusion, and staff are prepared to respond if side effects occur. We discuss risks, benefits, and alternatives before treatment begins, and we work with your insurance and pharmacy partners on prior authorization when needed. You should always tell us about new symptoms, infections, recent vaccinations, or other medications before an infusion so we can adjust the plan when appropriate.
